Montrose Beach Closed to Vehicle Traffic Due to Overcrowding on Memorial Day

Vehicle traffic to Montrose beach was shut down Monday at both Wilson Avenue and Montrose Avenue due to overcrowding, according to Chicago Police News Affairs.
The entrance to North Avenue Beach was also closed to vehicles. The beaches are still open to pedestrian traffic.

At 1:20 p.m. Montrose Avenue was backed up to Clark Street. Marine Drive was also heavily congested between Montrose Avenue and Foster Avenue.
