Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 5:53 PM Thursday to a report of a house fire at 127 North Evanston Avenue Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics initially received a report that a lot of smoke was coming from a house near the cemetery.

The fire department response was elevated to a working fire response about 5:56 p.m.

First firefighters on the scene reported smoke showing from the second floor attic area of a two-story single family home at 5:57 p.m.

Engine 2’s crew brought in the first line, then Engine 4’s crew brought in a second line.

Firefighters reported water was on the fire by 6:07 p.m., reported the fire was under control by 6:09 p.m. and declared “fire out” by 6:14 p.m.

Firefighters from Mount Prospect and Prospect Heights assisted Arlington Heights firefighters at the scene, and firefighters from Palatine stood by in an Arlington Heights fire station to protect Arlington Heights in case of another fire.

Arlington Heights police officers were assigned for crowd control and assisting homeowners.
