2500 People Without Electricity North Arlington Heights and Buffalo Grove

About 2506 people were without electricity Tuesday afternoon and evening after high wind gusts. Chicago Executive Airport in Wheeling reported a peak wind gust of 45 mph as of 4:00 p.m. Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport reported a peak wind gust of 53 mph as of 4:00 p.m.

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 2:22 PM Wednesday to a report of a power line down near several cars near Arlington Heights Road and Miller Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics shut down southbound Arlington Heights Road and were diverting traffic off onto University Drive after a primary line was also downed by high winds along Arlington Heights.

A power line was also reported down near 1117 Miller Lane, which was managed by Buffalo Grove firefighters before ComEd arrived.
