Elk Grove Village police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:22 PM Tuesday to a report of a garbage truck fire with an explosion at 2500 Landmeier Rd Elk Grove Village, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a garbage truck was on fire with an explosion.
Police reported the truck was fully-involved. First firefighters on the scene reported a fire in the engine compartment.
Firefighters were checking for extension to the rear of the truck, and reported they were getting ready for overhaul of the truck after extinguishing the fire by about 7:35 p.m.
