Mike Brown Torn Ligament Right Foot

Chicago Bears safety Mike Brown underwent surgery Wednesday on a torn ligament in his right foot. The seven-year veteran was injured as his foot was twisted on a running play on the final play of the third quarter during Monday Night Football’s game against the Arizona Cardinals. Brown limped off the field and was taken from the sideline on a cart during the fourth quarter of Monday’s 24-23 comeback victory at Arizona. The comeback began earlier, when Brown picked up a loose ball following Mark Anderson’s sack of Matt Leinart at the end of the third quarter. Brown returned it 3 yards for a touchdown that made it 23-10.

In his first four NFL seasons, Mike Brown played in all 64 games — with 63 starts — but during the past three years he has experienced injuries, including a torn Achilles’ tendon and right calf muscle trouble.
