Protesters started gathering at about 11:00 a.m. and were concentrated at Michigan Avenue and Illinois Street. The protest was organized to begin at Michigan Avenue and Wacker Drive and move up toward Water Tower Place.
The demonstration was organized by Rev. Jesse Jackson and several community activists and church leaders, including Reverend Michael Pfleger, a Roman Catholic priest, and was scheduled to being Friday.

“Don’t shop on the South Side of Chicago, boycott all South Side business to protest the killing of Tyshaun Lee. BELIEVE THAT. We need to clean our own household before trying to get others to care about our point of view. BELIEVE THAT.”
There are a report of two protest marches. One moving northbound on Michigan Avenue and one on southbound Michigan Avenue.
