Northlake Police Department and regional area police departments are searching and on the lookout for 87-year-old Earnest H. Moore of Northlake man, who was reported missing Tuesday. He was last seen Monday November 16, 2015 at a doctor’s appointment asking for directions home.

Earnest H. Moore was also last seen by a family member Monday and reported missing Tuesday, according to a news release from the Northlake Police Department. Moore, 87, told his son in the early morning hours Tuesday, he was in Green Bay, and that he was lost and trying to make his way back home to Northlake, which is located just south of O’Hare International Airport.

Moore was last known to have been driving a silver 2013 Buick LaCrosse hybrid with Illinois license plate number 662 762, police said.

Moore went to a doctor’s appointment — possibly in Morton Grove in the afternoon, according to Northlake Deputy Police Chief Jay Militello. Moore’s son later called him on his cellphone, but Moore said he was lost and unable to determine his location, Militello said.

A GPS ping from Moore’s cellphone was detected early Tuesday near Brussels, Wisconsin, which is about 22 miles northeast of Green Bay. Since that ping occurred, the phone appears to be dead, and there is no updated GPS information available, police said.

Moore has a heart medication prescription, but it is believed he has not taken the medication since Monday, according to Northlake Deputy Police Chief Jay Militello.

Earnest Moore is 5 foot 7 and 180 pounds, police said.

Apparently no activation criteria for a Silver Alert was met because Moore was not previously diagnosed with any cognitive impairment, such as Alzheimer’s disease, dementia or other mental disability.

Citizens with information about this case are urged to call the Northlake Police Department at 708-531-5755 or their local police agency (9-1-1).
