CNN’s Brian Todd reports on a Danish former ISIS hostage speaking out on his captors, saying “Jihadi John” made the hostage dance the tango with him.

Danish Photographer and hostage was released when his family paid a large ransom. The United States has discouraged paying ransom for hostages. Seven other journalists are known to have been released for ransom: French journalists Didier François, Edouard Elias, Nicolas Hénin, and Pierre Torres, and Spanish journalists Marc Marginedas, Javier Espinosa, and Ricardo García Vilanova.

He told Danish media that he was forced to dance the Tango with “Jihadi John” and then was beaten. He said he made sure he didn’t look “Jihadi John” in the eyes because it would mean more beatings.

Rye also said the terrorist threatened to take his nose off with pliers. Rye said he was held alongside James Foley, who was beheaded in August 2014.

“Jihadi John” has been identified as a British-Kuwaiti man Mohammed Emwazi.

Victims believed to be beheaded by “Jihadi John”

James Foley, August 2014

David Haines, September 2014

Alan Henning, October 2014

Peter Kassig, November 2014

Syrian soldiers, November 2014

Haruna Yukawa and Kenji Goto, January 2015
