Video shows the moment a bomb explodes near the main train station in the Turkish capital. CNN’s Victor Blackwell reports.

On October 10, 2015 about 10:04 a.m. local time, two bombs were detonated outside the entrance to the Ankara Central railway station. The blasts killed more than 95 people and injured 250 to 400 people.

Turkish government officials said the explosions were a terrorist attack carried out by suicide bombers. No group immediately claimed responsibility.

The explosions occurred shortly before a ‘Labor, Peace and Democracy’ rally supported by the Confederation of Progressive Trade Unions of Turkey (DİSK), the Union of Chambers of Turkish Engineers and Architects (TMMOB), the Turkish Medical Association (TTB) and the Confederation of Public Workers’ Unions (KESK).

The rally gathering place was in Sıhhiye Square near a railroad overpass. Many participants in the rally were were believed to be supporters of the pro-Kurdish Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP). Participants of the Labour Party (EMEP) and Socialist Youth Associations Federation (SGDF) were also at the rally.

There is speculation that the group connected with the October 10th bombing is connected with the group responsible for the Suruç bombing on July 20, 2015. ISIL on July 21, 2015 claimed responsibility for the blast, which was a suicide bombing.

The Dokumacılar is a Turkish terrorist organization linked to the ISIL) that specifically targets the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) that have fought against ISIL during the Syrian Civil War.

The Dokumacılar is thought to have been formed by about 60 Turkish militants who joined ISIL. The group is linked to both the 2015 Diyarbakır rally bombings that killed 4 people and the 2015 Suruç bombing that killed 32 people.

Two powerful bombs exploded near a crowded train station in Ankara, Turkey, on Saturday morning, in the deadliest attack in the Turkish capital in recent memory.

Death toll in Turkey’s worst ever attack rises to 128.

Two explosions targeted a Turkish peace rally in Ankara Saturday, killing at least 95 people and wounding more than 240 others. Authorities suspect the blasts were suicide bombings.
