Chicago Fire Department reported about 3:00 p.m. that one civilian was injured with smoke inhalation and two firefighters were injured — listed in stable condition.

Much of the fire initially surrounded a rooftop ventilation unit — apparently spreading up a restaurant exhaust chute from Adobo Grill. Some of the roof has collapsed around the rooftop ventilation unit. Chicago Fire Media reported that the Second City Theater was still safe at about 2:13 p.m. Heavy smoke was pouring out of the building’s corner turret as many of Second City’s office reported burning.

A huge volume of water was scene pouring down a staircase and out a front door while heavy volumes of water were pouring down from elevated master streams from tower ladders trucks and Squad 1’s snorkel.
