A computer problem at a Virginia air traffic control center led to significant flight delays Saturday at airports in the Washington and New York City areas, the Federal Aviation Administration said.
The FAA said an air traffic center in Leesburg, Virginia was believed to be the cause of the glitch which canceled more than 440 flights for hours and caused hundreds of other flights to be delayed Saturday, August 15, 2015.
Flights in or out of New York and DC have been delayed due to a computer outage, according to the FAA.
Travelers up and down the East Coast faced significant delays and cancellations Saturday due to a technical glitch at a flight control center in Virginia. Long lines plagued Washington’s Reagan National Airport.
