VIDEO: Shows explosion and fire from gas leak after a car crash sent one vehicle into the gas meter at a house in the 800 block of North Pennsylvania Avenue, Lansing, Michigan.

An SUV rear-ended a car in the 800 block of North Pennsylvania Avenue, Lansing, Michigan last Sunday and pushed the car into a gas meter at the side of a house.

With firefighters on the scene just after the 10:00 p.m. crash, a dashcam camera captured the explosion and fire from leaking gas that ignited. The explosion blew out the side of the house and the front porch.

Four houses nearby were also damaged. The SUV driver fled the scene in the SUV, which is likely to have front-end damage. Lansing police any citizen with information about the incident to call 517-377-1261.
