CNN: An eyewitness shares information on the shooting incident at a Navy reserve center in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

First a gunman in a silver Mustang drove up to the Armed Forces Career Center in a strip mall on Lee’s Highway and shot for 45 seconds at the strip mall facade before driving off. Initially, an unidentified police officer was reported to have been shot in the ankle, but not seriously injured at the strip mall location. Reports now say the person shot was a U.S. Marine.

The unidentified gunman then drove about 7 miles to the Navy Operational Support Center and Marine Corps Reserve Center and shot and killed four Marines. The Navy Operational Support Center and Marine Corps Reserve Center is located along a bend in the Tennessee River, northeast of downtown Chattanooga.

Police chased the gunman from the recruiting center to the Navy Operational Support Center, but could not neutralize the gunman before he killed four U.S. Marines. The gunman was then shot and killed.

The FBI and military police were investigating the attack, but authorities could not rule out the possibility of terrorism. The gunman was identified as Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez. Closed circuit television security cameras provided images that captured the vehicle, the license plate, and the gunman.
