Power Outage in Elk Grove After Truck Crash into a Utility Pole on Busse Rd Near Devon Ave, Elk Grove Village

Elk Grove Village police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 2:50 PM Friday to a truck crash at Busse Road and Devon Avenue Elk Grove Village, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a truck hit a utility pole and was in contact with power lines at the scene.

Elk Grove Village Engine 9’s crew reported a utility pole destroyed by a truck crash. Firefighters also reported the truck was in contact with all power lines.

A power outage occurred in the area, and was reported to be causing gridlock on Busse Road.

An activated fire alarm also occurred followed by smoke showing in the business at Century Link Technology Solutions. The incident was possibly related to the power disruption caused by the truck crash.

The power outage is also reported to be affecting a water lifting station nearby.

ComEd Report 141 customers without power and addition 5 customers without power. The majority of customers were initially expected to have their power restored by 4:45 p.m., but later that restoration time was updated to 7:06 p.m.
