Blues legend B.B. King, age 89, has told fans he’s in hospice care at home in Las Vegas, and posted thanks to fans on his official website Friday for well-wishes and prayers. In October 2014, B.B. King canceled the final shows of his 2014 tour after being diagnosed with dehydration and exhaustion in Chicago at the House of Blues.

“I am in home hospice care at my residence in Las Vegas.

Thanks to all for your well wishes and prayers.”

— B.B. King (May 1, 2015)

“I want to thank everyone for their concern and good wishes. I’m feeling much better & am leaving the hospital today.”

— B.B. King (April 7, 2015)

An ambulance responded Thursday to King’s address in Las Vegas. The resulting hospitalization was the second in a month for King, who was diagnosed with diabetes years ago.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer has released more than 50 albums and sold millions of records worldwide.

Blues master B.B. King performs “The Thrill Is Gone” in Chicago at the 2010 Crossroads Guitar Festival.
