Crash Involving a Pace Bus with Injuries Kensington Road and Dryden Place Arlington Heights, IL

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 2:37 PM Friday to a report of crash with injuries at Kensington Road and Dryden Place Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that Pace Bus was involved in a crash with an SUV.

The male driver in a Jeep Patriot was transported to Northwest Community Hospital. About 30 people on the bus were checked by firefighter/paramedics.

Student from Prospect High School were on the bus on a field trip with special needs students to help them learn how to use public transportation. Apparently they got the advanced class today.

Witnesses inside the Pace Bus report that the last stop on the bus was in downtown Arlington Heights. The passengers reported the bus was eastbound on Kensington Road with a green light at Dryden Place when the crash occurred. The witnesses reported that the driver of a Jeep Patriot was northbound on Dryden Place and disobeyed a red light when it crashed into the right side of the Pace Bus. The Jeep Patriot had moderate-to-severe front-end damage and coasted to a stop about 100 feet east of the Pace Bus — facing eastbound in the westbound lanes of Kensington Road.

A few bus passengers may have had minor injuries, but no bus passengers were transported by ambulance. One or more passengers may have visited the emergency room with their parents help.
