Several fires are burning in Ferguson, Missouri after 8:30 p.m. when an announcement of “No Indictment” was released by St. Louis County Prosecutor Bob McCulloch.

UPDATE: 29 people arrested, more than 12 buildings set on fire, no serious injuries reported.

The announcement was made at night at a time which might prove to have lack of foresight. Weather conditions included steady winds of 15 mph with gusts to 21 mph at the beginning of the protest, which quickly turned violent.

High winds may have made tear gas less effective, and fanned fire at multiple buildings in Ferguson, Missouri.

First a trash can, then a St. Louis County police car, and then buildings started to burn. Police radio reports warned that protesters setting “Red’s BBQ” on fire were armed … “All of them are armed.” A Walgreens was looted and set on fire. The Public Storage facility near the location where Michael Brown was killed was also set on fire.

An Auto Zone auto parts store began burning at about 11:45 p.m. Monday. A TitleMax was reported burning at about 12:10 a.m.
