Jennifer Kraft says a warning sign would have saved her from a life-altering injury on Chicago’s lakefront. CBS 2 Chicago’s Suzanne Le Mignot reports.

Jennifer Kraft crashed on her bike about six blocks south of 31st Street Harbor where a gap occurs in breakwater wall area. There is about a 60-foot gap between the breakwater wall. She landed on her bike helmet and her helmet was shattered during the crash on April 25, 2014. She suffered a spinal injury that left her paralyzed.

She is suing the Chicago Park District with the help of Patrick A. Salvi of Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard, P.C. Interviewed by CBS 2, Salvi said anyone that would go out there to the breakwater wall would see that you can’t tell there is a drop off.
