Driver of White Volvo Truck Sought by Chicago Police After Hit-and-Run Crash on Ashland Ave

Chicago police are searching for the driver of a white semi-tractor who struck a bicyclist in the 3600 block of South Ashland Avenue on October 7, 2014. The 47-year-old bicyclist was critically injured.

The semi-tractor was southbound on Ashland Avenue about 4:25 p.m. struck the cyclist and drove off, according to authorities. The cyclist was left in critical condition, officials said.

The truck driver was described as a male/white, in his 30s with a “slender-to-medium build,” blond hair and a short, clean-cut beard. The semi-tractor is possibly a Volvo model 660 that sustained heavy damage to the roof, which can be seen in the photos.

Chicago police urge anyone with information regarding the incident should contact the Chicago Police Department Major Accident Investigation Unit at 312-745-4521.
