Today, October 8, 2014 was the day of the second of two total lunar eclipses in 2014, and also the second of the tetrad involving four total lunar eclipses in a series. A tetrad is a series of four total lunar eclipses with in two years.

The Moon was at maximum eclipse close to the west horizon and was difficult to see because of poorer visibility near the horizon. However the final states were spectacular with the dawn’s twilight.
