Multiple police agencies and a police helicopter were involved about 1:30 p.m. Monday in a police pursuit that started near 76th Street and Harlem Avenue in the Bridgeview, Bedford Park area. Police had the offender cornered in a semi-trailer truck he was driving on northbound Cicero Avenue, just south of the Stevenson Expressway by about 1:50 p.m.

The incident was a hostage/barricade situation as the man was holding his two children at gunpoint. Three Chicago Fire Department ambulances were on standby during the standoff.
The suspect is possibly wanted on a charge of domestic battery with a weapon involved.
The man was arrested by about 3:00 p.m. Both Cicero Avenue and I-55 were re-opened by about 3:20 p.m.
