Apps May Help Protect Debit Cards with Locking and On/Off Capability

CBS 2 Chicago: You probably lock your front door when you leave home, your car when you aren’t driving it and your smartphone when you’re not using it. Pretty soon you may be able to lock your credit cards too.

Major banks may begin offering additional debit card security with on/off capability by the end of the year. One publisher of the app is Ondot.

Ondot’s Mobile Card Services comprises of value-added products to manage all aspects of payment cards and transactions – ranging from pre-authorization controls to real-time transaction alerting and management.

People using payment cards for everyday purchases can use our products to proactively control their cards and finances. Ondot products are made available to consumers by their banks and credit unions.
