Palatine police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 4:16 AM Friday to an activated fire alarm at Hotel Bolero 920 East Northwest Highway Palatine, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics arrived and reported nothing showing outside the building.
Inside the vacant hotel they initially found the northwest part of the building on the first floor charged with smoke and feeling warm. Firefighters found a fire possibly involving a light fixture, and extinguished the fire.
Firefighters then ventilated the first floor and upper floors, which also filled with smoke.
