Smoke Investigation at Structural Steel on East Davis St, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:14 AM Friday to a report of heavy smoke in a commercial building at Structural Steel, 1723 East Davis Street Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that of heavy smoke coming from a basement area. On arrival, first firefighter crews reported that people were evacuating the building, but no smoke was showing on the exterior.

The first crew inside reported that first look appeared to be a furnace/electrical problem inside the building.

Firefighters are required to take extra precautions because of the greater chance of ignition and/or spread of a fire in high wind conditions.
