Ask Paul B: Ice Ice Baby…OUCH

#ad▼

Dear Paul B,

I was with my daughter the other day. She is 36, overweight by 70 lbs (I think more) and is putting her kids in grave danger. I am a slender 61 and I work out religiously. Sara will carry her two year old son, and have a bag of groceries or dry-cleaning in her other while walking into and out of stores. There is ICE out there and it is very dangerous. Her little one could go flying, and I don’t agree with her carefree approach when these streets and parking lots are accidents waiting to happen. She claims that she is sure-footed, like a horse, and that I shouldn’t worry. The only thing that is horse-like about her is her appetite. Please help me, Paul B.

++++++++++++++++

Dear Grace,

You remind of Phyllis Diller, you kooky lady. I am a sure-footed LATE 50’s male, and I never took the ice too seriously. I am a pro at falling, and had never injured myself…until January 14th. I fell flat on my back and thought I would never be able to stand up. I cracked two ribs, and I will never take the “snow covered ice” for granted again.It is extremely dangerous and to negotiate an icy walkway, parking lot or even your very own sidewalk in front of your home is a crap shoot. Your daughter (Oh, Wilbur,) should walk with her child or put him in a stroller. Kids skulls are quite soft when they’re little, and it would be a tragedy if that little girl went flying and landed on her head. Your daughter needs to slow down and THINK. Give her a few carrots when you bring up the topic; they like those.
