Catalytic Converters Cut from Two Vehicles at Metra Train Lot Near Arlington Park

Arlington Heights police received a report about 5:31 PM Saturday of a theft of catalytic converters at the Metra parking lot, 2121 West Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights, IL.. An unknown offender or offenders removed the catalytic converter from a blue 2004 Chevy Venture Van. The estimated replacement cost is $1,000.

The catalytic converter was cut from the bottom chassis of the van.

The crime is reported to have occurred between January 25, 2014 between 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Police had also received a report on Thursday, January 23, 2014 that a catalytic converter theft occurred at the same Metra lot. The crime is reported to have occurred on Thursday, January 23, 2014 between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

The catalytic converter was cut from a silver 2006 Honda Element. The valued as reported to be $1500.
