Arlington Heights Weather Forecast: Falling Temps, Windy; Gradual Warming from Monday Through Thursday

Chicagoland weather radar [LIVE RADAR] shows indications of very light precipitation heading northwest to southeast across counties west of Rockford and west of Kane County toward southwest Will County. Occasional snow flurries are expected to persist thoughout the day and night until about 11:00 p.m. Snow may startup at about 12 noon Monday with about 0.3 inch of accumulation Monday afternoon and early evening.

Satellite images show clouds over most of the Midwest. Mixed clouds Sunday with clouds increasing about 4:00 a.m. Monday. Forecast calls for sunny skies Tuesday and Wednesday.

Windy today with gust up to 22 MPH from the northwest about 3:00 p.m. and calming down around 11:00 p.m. Falling temperatures are forecast to dip down to 1 degree at 5:00 a.m. Monday. Wind Chill is forecast for as low at -8 from about 10:00 p.m. until 3:00 a.m.

Slight warmup forecast Monday. Warmer temperatures are expected Tuesday through Thursday before cold returns, but not as bitter cold as recent arctic incursions.

Snowfall yesterday results for Arlington Heights are 3 5/8 inches. Photo is from yesterday at noon when 3 1/2 inches of new snow fell. An additional 1/8 inch dusted the area, but settling has brought the new snowfall back down to 3 1/2 inches — not 3 5/8. Snow cover is about 7 inches.
