Pellet Gun Shooter Hits Drive-Thru Employee, Shatters Window, And Hits Customer’s Car At Portillo’s On Dundee Rd, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police responded about 8:01 PM Saturday to a battery by shooting of a pellet gun at Portillo’s, 806 West Dundee Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders shattered a window on the south side of the building and shot a pellet that hit an employee in the left cheek. The employee, who works in the drive-thru operation was uninjured and refused medical treatment.

A customer’s vehicle in the drive-thru was also hit — a 2009 Chevy Cobalt was hit and damaged in the right front fender.

Witnesses reported the possibility that the shooting suspect’s vehicle was a dark-colored Dodge Durango.

The crime is reported to have occurred on November 30, 2013 between 7:45 pm and 8:00 p.m.
