A modified Boeing 747 Dreamlifter cargo plane landed at the wrong airport in Kansas at 11:00 p.m. Wednesday night. The aircraft was supposed to fly from New York JFK Airport to the McConnell Air Force Base southeast of Wichita, but instead it landed at Jabara Airport — a public airport located about nine miles northeast of Wichita in error.
FOX NEWS may show LIVE take off. Aircraft requires over 7,000 feet of runway and it is sitting on a 6,000-foot runway (FOX NEWS Boeing 747 mistakenly lands at small Kansas airport).
The Boeing 747-400 Dreamlifter, operated by Atlas Air, mistakenly landed at the Colonel James Jabara Airport instead of the nearby McConnell Air Force Base as planned. This poses a problem, as the Dreamlifter requires 7100 feet of runway for a minimum-distance takeoff.
Giant 4241: “Apparently we’ve landed at BEC” which is Beech Factory Airport located about five miles east of Wichita — a private airport owned by Beechcraft. In fact, they landed at Jabara Airport.
