Officers near Midland, Texas helped capture a runaway pet kangaroo, after several people called 911 to report seeing the animal hopping along a rural highway. Patrol car video caught some of the slow speed chase.

Midland County Sheriff’s deputies helped a man catch his pet kangaroo that escaped from home. The man used a treat to get close to his pet kangaroo, then got him in a bear hug. Now police are checking to see if the man failed to register the pet as an exotic pet, or if the pet qualifies as a classification requiring registration as an exotic pet.
