DUI Arrest on Stratford Rd at St. James St, Arlington Heights After Driver Drove through Methodist Park

Arlington Heights police arrested a DUI driver 12:51 AM Thursday near Stratford Road and St. James Street Arlington Heights, IL. Officer observed Jeffrey Moroney, age 26, of the 700 block of North Hickory Avenue, driving his gray 2005 Acura TL through the grassy area of Methodist Park at 201 N. Gibbons. He stopped momentarily before driving onto Gibbons Avenue with the headlights still off. A traffic stop made, and a strong odor of alcoholic beverage on his breath, according to Arlington Heights police. An unsealed almost empty bottle of Captain Morgan was found on back seat floor with a plastic cup and ice. A glass pipe containing suspect cannabis residue was also found in the vehicle. Police transported the driver in custody to Arlington Heights Police Department Headquarters. The driver’s Acura TL was towed to a police holding area.

Moroney was charged with DUI with alcohol over the legal limit, illegal transportation, driving without illuminated headlights, and possession of drug paraphernalia

Court date is November 14, 2013.
