Ununpentium Is the Temporary Name of a New Element Synthesized, Confirmed at GSI in Sweden

Researchers in Sweden say they’ve made a new element, calling it Ununpentium.

On August 27, 2013, researchers at GSI Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research from Lund University in Sweden reported confirming the existence of the element.

Ununpentium is the temporary name of a synthetic superheavy element in the periodic table that has the temporary symbol Uup and has the atomic number 115.
