Vehicle Burglary and Identity Theft on North Salem Ave, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report on Thursday of a vehicle burglary in the block of 300 North Salem Avenue Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders burglarized a 2002 Chevy Cavalier in late June 2013.

Vehicle registration and receipts and miscellaneous papers were taken from the glove box. Also, a Ravinia chair was taken from the back seat. There were no signs of force to the burglarized vehicle.

The vehicle burglary is reported to have occurred before June 28, 2013, but was not initially reported. The vehicle is reported to have occurred between Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 9:00 a.m.

Then on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. the victim discovered that an unknown person used the victim’s information to start Dish Network service. The victim reported that no financial loss occurred from the identity theft, but thought the vehicle burglary and identity theft might be related.

The offender used her first name and the last four numbers of her Social Security Number.
