Contents from Trunk Missing After Vehicle Burglary at the Downtown Metra Station, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about 10:01 AM Thursday of a vehicle burglary at the Metra Train Station, 45 West Northwest Highway Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders burglarized a passenger vehicle. Unknown offender(s) entered the trunk of a gold 2002 V.W. Passat without any signs of force and removed one HP laptop computer valued at $1,500, one Apple IPad 3 valued at $800, one white Apple IPhone 5 valued at $499, black/green computer case valued at $150, make-up bag valued at $150, blank checks and approximately $1,000 cash. Following awareness of the vehicle burglary, the Apple iPhone 5 cell phone was last detected in Elgin via a GPS locating feature.

The crime is reported to have occurred between Tuesday July 10, 2013 at 5:00 p.m.and Wednesday July 11, 2013 at 10:00 a.m.
