Felony Theft of Over $800 Worth of Hard Liquor from Jewel-Osco on East Rand Rd, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police discovered a theft about 2:43 PM Monday from the Jewel-Osco, 440 East Rand Road Arlington Heights, IL. Arlington Heights police on patrol spotted two suspicious men pushing a Dominick’s shopping cart in the area of 1600 North Arlington Heights Road. Inside the shopping cart was a duffel bag, a briefcase and a suitcase. Their “luggage” was filled with 27 bottles of hard liquor valued at $847.45.

Upon investigation it was determined that the suspects took the bottles from Jewel-Osco on Rand Road near Palatine Road.

Arrested was Lamar K Powells, a male age 30, of the 1500 block of South Homan Chicago. He was charged with felony theft of liquor., and misdemeanor theft for theft of the Dominick’s shopping cart. His court date is pending.

Also arrested was Delaney Thompson Jr., a male age 29, of the 11000 block of South State Street, Chicago. He was charged with felony retail theft of the liquor and misdemeanor theft of the Dominick’s shopping cart.

His court date is pending.

The two were held for bond court on June 10, 2013 — today.
