Arlington Heights police responded about 2:11 PM Friday to Tanglewood Apartments, 2170 South Goebbert Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that man was standing on a back balcony of an apartment building.
Goebbert Road was shut down to traffic in both directions.
Police are not sure if it is a BB gun or CO2-powered gun, or if it is a full-powered weapon. Some witnesses reported a subject walking in the area with an AirSoft rifle earlier.
The apartment building was evacuated, and Forest View Educational Center was put on lockdown.
One subject was in custody by about 2:30 p.m. Police secured the apartment, and determined that gun was an Airsoft.
Lockdown at Forest View Education Center was released at about 2:35 p.m.
