Barbara Garcia, a survivor of the massive tornado that struck an Oklahoma City suburb, found her dog buried alive under the rubble during her interview with CBS News’ Anna Werner.

Answered prayers …
“I thought God just answered one prayer, to let me be okay. He answered both of them. Because this was my second prayer (for the dog to be OK),” tornado victim Barbara Garcia told Anna Werner after the CBS News TV crew helped her free the dog.

Barbara Garcia had a plan for Tornado Warnings: Grab her Schnauzer “Cathy” and sit on a stool in an interior bathroom. She managed her plan, but when the tornado struck, her house was destroyed. Her stool was knocked from underneath her, and she was forced to the ground. She never lost consciousness, but when she opened her eyes, there was no house. She saw a cooker from the kitchen, but no Cathy. She called her name, but got no answer from her best friend. Then during an interview with Anna Werner of CBS News, the news crew discovered the dog peeking her head from underneath the rubble.

Barbara Garcia calmly stooped to help her friend out of the rubble, saying, “Bless your little heart.”
