NORTH RIVERSIDE, IL – Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart announced the late afternoon Tuesday the recovery of a young boy’s body in the Des Plaines River near McCormick Woods at the intersection of First Avenue and 31st Street.

An autopsy will be performed today (Wednesday) by a Cook County Medical Examiner to identify the boy and determine the cause of death.

A kayaker spotted what he believed to be the body late this afternoon.

The Des Plaines Rivers has been subject to an intensive search since April, when 1-year-old Bryeon Hunter disappeared.

His mother Lakeshia Baker, 22, and Baker’s boyfriend Michael Scott, 21 have each been charged with murder in this case.
