Lincolnshire And Deerfield Police Activity Near Interstate 94 And Half Day Road: Chase of Armed Robbery Suspects

Lincolnshire and Deerfield Police about 7:40 PM Monday were involved in a police pursuit on Interstate 94 after police spotted a vehicle fleeing a robbery. Police activity in the area of Interstate 94 and Half Day Road involved pursuit of three armed robbery suspects from a Deerfield armed robbery. The car chase converted to a foot chase in the area of Interstate 294 and Half Day Road after the suspects lost control of their vehicle and hit a median.

Police reported three male/black suspects were last seen running southeast from the area of Interstate 94 and Half Day Road. Buffalo Grove police joined the chase about 7:45 p.m. providing a K-9 unit that took initiative to assist Deerfield and Lincolnshire police after hearing chase communications on the Illinois State Police Emergency Radio Network. The area of activity included the campus of Trinity International University (TIU). A lockdown at the campus was issued and was lifted by 10:00 p.m.

ALL CLEAR: Lockdown lifted! All 3 suspects have been apprehended, and the TIU campus is now back to normal operating procedures.

Two out of three suspects were in custody by about 8:01 p.m. The third suspect was captured while hiding in an office building about 9:30 p.m. Police from several communities were involved in the search via an activated ILEAS (Illinois Law Enforcement Agency Alarm System) mutual aid response.

The suspects in custody allegedly robbed a T-Mobile cell phone store in the 100 block of South Waukegan Road in Deerfield.

One suspect was apprehended by Bannockburn Lt. Jack Heneghan near the Half Day Road interchange with Interstate 94. Another suspect was apprehended at a La Quinta. Bannockburn Officer George Roberts apprehended the third suspect after he found him hiding in a restroom at the Bannockburn Executive Plaza, 2275 Half Day Road.
