Javier Rosales, 35, of the 1900 block of Green Lane North, was charged with aggravated battery to a disabled person, a Class X felony. A Cook County Circuit Court judge today set bond at $150,000.

Rosales has been charged with breaking the leg of a 13-year-old girl who has cerebral palsy, according to police.

Police report that Rosales was babysitting the female victim and her 12-year-old sister at their home in Palatine on Monday when the 13-year-old spit her food at Rosales, who then stomped on the girl’s right leg as she lay on the floor.

The 12-year-old sister called 911 and the injured girl was taken to Lurie Children’s Hospital. A cast was put on her leg, and police were notified of the crime.

Judge Joel Greenblatt ordered Javier Rosales not to have contact with the girl or her family in the event he posts bond.

Rosales is scheduled to appear in Rolling Meadows Cook County Circuit Court on April 12.
