Freight Train Derailment Blocking Busse Rd Between Arthur Ave and Pratt Blvd, Elk Grove Village

Elk Grove Village police responded about 6:28 AM Monday to a freight train derailment at Busse and Arthur Elk Grove Village, IL. Police on the scene reported they discovered a train derailment at Busse and Arthur. Police have blocked intersections at Busse Road and Pratt Boulevard, and Busse Road and Arthur Avenue.

Elmhurst Road was also blocked, but was cleared first at about 7:50 a.m.

A vehicle crash occurred at Busse Road and Pratt Boulevard about 6:55 a.m. Paramedics responded because air bags deployed in at least one of the vehicles. Injuries are apparently minor.

Monday, March 4, 2013, Union Pacific was correcting a train derailment most of the day with Elmhurst Road blocked from about 2:56 a.m. until early afternoon.
