Crashes reported on Route 53 over Higgins Road and at Lake Cook Road and Arlington Heights Road were reported between 5:45 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. Tuesday morning. Police on the scene at Lake Cook Road and Arlington Heights Road reported “solid ice” conditions, and requested salt trucks to respond.
Multiple other crashes have been reported already by 7:15 a.m.
Spinout at then entrance ramp from Meacham Road to the westbound Elgin O’Hare Expressway.
Crash at southbound Old Route 53 south of Old McHenry Road, Long Grove.
Off road at Kennicott Avenue north of University in Arlington Heights at least three vehicles left the roadway because of icy roads.
Crash at McHenry and Deerfield Parkway a spinout with a vehicle in a ditch.
Crash at Busse and Estes in Elk Grove Village — blue SUV in the ditch and up against a culvert.
Crash at Northwest Highway near Dundee Road.
Crash at Arlington Heights Road and Plum Grove Road in Buffalo Grove.
