Attempted Cell Phone Theft Foiled at Xsport Fitness on East Golf Rd, Arlington Heights

#ad▼

Arlington Heights police received a report about 4:45 PM Thursday of an attempted theft at Xsport Fitness, 320 East Golf Road, Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that a subject took a cell phone that he found unattended at the fitness center. Initially he denied taking the phone, but the cell phone was somehow produced from his pocket after he was questioned by the victim and staff at Xsport. Police were called. The suspect was investigated, and apparently had no criminal history or warrants out for his arrest.

The victim did not wish to press charges. The suspect was warned that “next time” he would be arrested, and was sent home for the day. Xsport Fitness corporate management will make a decision whether his membership is revoked or whether he only receives a warning.
