Burglary Results in Loss Of Tools and Supplies Valued at $3600 At Construction Site on West Algonquin Rd, Arlngton Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about 9:16 AM Friday burglary at a commercial building at 717 West Algonquin Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders entered the construction site of a vacant business space and took thousands of dollars worth of power tools and hand tools. There were no signs of force into the commercial space; however, the offender(s) forced open a locked metal equipment box inside the commercial space.

Offender(s) removed 12 rolls of 12ga. electrical wire (valued at $1,000), five Dewalt cordless drills (valued at $100 ea.), two Dewalt Sawzalls (valued at $150 ea.), four Makita cordless drills (valued at $150 ea.), one Bosch cordless drill (valued at $150), two Milwaukee cordless drills in a red/black bag (valued at $200), two Dewalt impact drills (valued at $250 ea.), three Dewalt 12 volt batteries (valued at $50 ea.) and various other tools (valued at $300).

The crime is reported to have occurred between February 21, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. and February 22, 2013 at 6:45 a.m.

The commercial space shares a common area location in the same office building, sharing the same atrium, where three laptops were stolen in the same time period.

In early January 2013, copper wiring valued at $50,000 was taken from a vacant building at 703-709 West Algonquin Road. All of the 800 MCM copper wiring — 0.8 inch in diameter — was removed from the conduit at the commercial space.
