The 2013 Daytona 500 is a 500 miles (804.7 km)-long NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race held annually at the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. It is one of four restrictor plate races on the Cup schedule. Matt Kenseth is the defending champion of the race. Contested over 200 laps on the 2.5-mile (4.0 km) asphalt tri-oval. The 2013 Daytona 500 will be the first race of the 2013 Sprint Cup Series season. Last year it was the third race. The 2011 Daytona 500 was the first race of the 2011 Sprint Cup Series season.
