Roselle Fire Department and Hanover Park Fire Department responded about 11:06 PM Saturday to multiple crashes on the westbound Elgin-O’Hare Expressway. Illinois State police reported six crashes on the eastbound Elgin-O’Hare Expressway. Two crashes were personal injury crashes involving a 7-year-old girl with neck pain and an adult female with chest pain.

Four crashes involved “property damage only” crashes.

The westbound expressway lanes were closed about 11:20 p.m. Saturday at Gary Avenue.

Arterial roads and side streets in Arlington Heights and Palatine were not slippery Saturday night, although vehicles had ice buildup on fenders and side mirrors. Salt trucks seemed to be ahead of the weather.

Recently, several crashes on Monday November 12, 2012 on the Elgin-O’Hare killing Dhirajial Tejala Ratanpara from Hanover Park. Ratanpara was struck while standing outside his wrecked car as additional crashes occurred on an icy expressway. There was a report of about 15 vehicles involved in crashes on the Elgin O’Hare Expressway. The expressway was closed in both directions about 10:30 p.m. on Monday, November 12, 2012.

Roselle Fire Department, Hanover Park Fire Department and Elk Grove Village Fire Department also responded to multiple crashes on the Elgin-O’Hare Expressway on Saturday, March 5, 2012. On that date one person was ejected with a reported rollover crash, and Elk Grove Village firefighter/paramedics responded about 5:40 p.m. Saturday (March 5, 2012) and were helping people from three crashes — all on the overpass of the Elgin-O’Hare over Meacham Road.
