VIDEO: Three Rescued from Burning Car in Jupiter, Florida

A Good Samaritan helped free a passenger from a burning car in Jupiter, Florida while police pulled the driver and another passenger to safety. The entire incident was captured on a police officer’s dashboard camera.

Jupiter police and Palm Beach County Fire Rescue responded about 10:21 p.m. Wednesday to a crash near the intersection of Main Street and Scripps Way when they discovered a green Cadillac engulfed in flames and all three vehicle occupants unable to escape.

Bill Baehler, a passerby Good Samaritan, pulled the front passenger from the vehicle.

Jupiter police officer Chad Smith ran to the driver’s side and broke the vehicle’s window to rescue the driver from the burning vehicle.

Officer Telly Tyson approached the rear driver’s side of the burning vehicle and broke out the window; then pulled the other passenger to safety.

The driver was then transported to the St. Mary’s Medical Center via Trauma Hawk with non-life threatening injuries. The two passengers were transported to Jupiter Medical Center.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue extinguished the car fire.

The Trauma Hawk Aero-Medical Program provided by Palm Beach County Fire-Rescue for Palm Beach County, Florida, is dispatched about one-to-five times a day for traumatic injuries, such as vehicle accident trauma and sports injuries, and medical emergencies, such as stroke and cardiac emergencies.
