Mount Prospect police responded about 11:27 PM Friday to a report of vehicle burglary “in progress” in the 900 block of Wheeling Road. Police received a report that offenders in a silver Dodge had just broken into the victim’s Mercedes E420. Police received a report the offenders fled eastbound on Ironwood in the silver Dodge.
When police arrived on the scene they updated the case that this was actually a stolen vehicle not a burglary to vehicle. A total of three offenders are possibly into vehicles — the Dodge and the Mercedes.
Police caught up with the Mercedes at Main and Central and were committed to a traffic stop. Police were investigating and discovering that a repo team was working on retrieving the Mercedes.
