Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 9:27 AM Tuesday to a report of a crash of a backhoe into a power line or utility pole at a Pace Bus (construction site), 550 West Algonquin Road. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a back hoe driver remained inside the backhoe, and that power lines were on the back hoe.

Firefighters reported on arrival that power lines were across an excavator vehicle and that the operator was OK, but still inside the vehicle.

Firefighter/paramedics waited for Com Ed to arrive, checked the excavator operator, and turned the scene over to Com Ed after the power was shut off and the operator exited the excavator. No injuries reported.
