Former Prospect High School shortstop Jason Leblebijian was moved up this week from the Vancouver Canadians of the short season A league and the Northwest League affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays to the Lansing Lugnuts — of the Class A Midwest League.

Leblebijian started his Midwest League experience just right, getting on base 3 for 5 with two runs and one RBI during a 7-1 win over the Great Lakes Loons on Wednesday, August 22, 2012.

The Lugnuts were an affiliate of the Chicago Cubs from 1999 through 2004 before joining the Jays’ farm system for the 2005 season to present. Several well-known Chicago Cubs have played for the Lugnuts, including Francis Beltrán, Sean Marshall, Mark Prior, Ryan Theriot and Carlos Zambrano.
